You can either: A) be passive and allow the referrals to come in "naturally"; OR B) be proactive and actively SEEK out and ASK for referrals
With Option A your business will grow from referrals at a rate determined by your clients and other referral partners. With Option B your business can grow at a rate determined by YOU.
It's been said that people are 50% more likely to do something if you ASK them to do it (i.e. instead of relying on them to come up with the idea and take action on their own). A well-designed and implemented referral program begins with ASKING.
Here are a few other ideas for your own referral program... <> If you deliver a tangible product, be it a widget or a printed report or whatever, include an insert in the package that encourages the recipient to refer to you.
<> In your marketing campaigns, be they online/digital or direct mail, display ad (space permitting), etc., include a blurb about appreciating referrals (with a link to a refer-a-colleague page on your site if the campaign is digital [For example, see the "Send to a Colleague" link below and please use it... we love your referrals!]).
<> "Incentivize" referrals! Offer reward points, gift cards, credit for your products/services or cold, hard CASH for a referral that becomes a client!
