Word Of Mouth
The passing of information by verbal means, especially recommendations, in an informal, person-to-person manner.
WOM is statistically the #1 way businesses get new business. So ... do YOU have a referral program in place? OR what are you doing to encourage or "incentivize"
referrals?
Here are a few simple things you can do to encourage more Word of Mouth
(or Word of MOUSE) referrals ...

Add a line or graphic to your email signature that says "Your referrals are always appreciated".

Include a business card with a note that says "If you already have my business card, please share the enclosed one with a colleague, client or friend" in ANYTHING you mail.
If you are in person, give someone TWO or more business cards and ask them to give the extras to their colleagues or clients.

In your email newsletter, always encourage the recipient to forward to a colleague (especially through the "send to friend" link at the bottom of the email)!
